Who operates ModMatcher

ModMatcher is an independent service operated under the ModMatcher name. For privacy questions or requests, contact [email protected].

Information we process

• Search requests and filters. We process the text and setup choices you submit to return matching Minecraft projects.
• Technical request data. Our infrastructure may process IP address, request time, requested path, response status, browser user agent and security signals.
• Preferences stored on your device. ModMatcher may remember navigation state or a preferred mod loader in your browser's local storage.

Do not include names, contact details or other personal information in a search request.

Why we process it

We process search requests to provide the service you ask for. We process limited technical data to deliver pages, prevent abuse, investigate failures and keep the service secure. We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising.

Service providers and project sources

ModMatcher is hosted by OVHcloud and uses Cloudflare for domain, network and security services. Search text may be processed by OpenAI to interpret or rank a request when AI features are enabled. We also request project information from Modrinth and use a local index of CurseForge projects. These providers may process data in countries outside your own under their respective privacy terms.

Retention

Search text is not intentionally written to web access logs. Technical access logs are kept for no longer than 30 days unless a longer period is necessary to investigate abuse, a security incident or a legal obligation. Browser preferences remain on your device until you clear them.

Cookies and analytics

ModMatcher currently does not use advertising cookies or third-party audience analytics. Security providers may use strictly necessary technologies to protect the service. If optional analytics or advertising are introduced, this notice and the consent experience will be updated first.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction or objection regarding your personal data. Email [email protected] to make a request. You may also complain to the data protection authority where you live.
